Actana captures conditions on a different scale depending on your sales region. When you list, Actana translates the condition for each marketplace. Your inventory always keeps the condition you captured.
Region Europe
You capture on the Cardmarket scale with 7 grades.
| In the app | PowerTools file | eBay.de | eBay.co.uk and eBay.com | Shopify |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| MT Mint | MT | Nahezu neuwertig oder besser | Near Mint or Better | Mint |
| NM Near Mint | NM | Nahezu neuwertig oder besser | Near Mint or Better | Near Mint |
| EX Excellent | EX | Leicht bespielt (Exzellent) | Lightly Played (Excellent) | Excellent |
| GD Good | GD | Gebraucht (Sehr gut) | Moderately Played (Very Good) | Good |
| LP Light Played | LP | Gebraucht (Sehr gut) | Moderately Played (Very Good) | Light Played |
| PL Played | PL | Stark bespielt (Minderwertig) | Heavily Played (Poor) | Played |
| PO Poor | PO | Stark bespielt (Minderwertig) | Heavily Played (Poor) | Poor |
- eBay here means eBay Direct Listing. The condition field, the title and the description carry the same grade. eBay.de uses German words; its titles use the short form, for example “Gebraucht”.
- Shopify: the condition goes into the title and tags of new products, with its Cardmarket name, exactly as you captured it. Shopify has no condition list of its own, so your shop uses your scale.
- ManaPool is only available with the sales region USA.
- eBay CSV: you pick the eBay grade while capturing, see below.
Region USA and other countries
You capture on the US scale from TCGplayer with 5 grades.
| In the app | eBay.com and eBay.co.uk | ManaPool | Shopify |
|---|---|---|---|
| NM Near Mint | Near Mint or Better | Near Mint | Near Mint |
| LP Lightly Played | Lightly Played (Excellent) | Lightly Played | Lightly Played |
| MP Moderately Played | Moderately Played (Very Good) | Moderately Played | Moderately Played |
| HP Heavily Played | Heavily Played (Poor) | Heavily Played | Heavily Played |
| DMG Damaged | Heavily Played (Poor) | Damaged | Damaged |
There is no Mint and no Light Played here. Your conditions reach ManaPool and Shopify exactly as you capture them.
Light Played is not Lightly Played
On Cardmarket, Light Played sits between Good and Played. The English Lightly Played on eBay and TCGplayer matches Cardmarket’s Excellent instead. If Actana copied the name, your card would look better to the buyer than it is. That is why Light Played goes out as Moderately Played on eBay and ManaPool.
eBay and ManaPool have no Mint. It goes out there as Near Mint.
eBay has only 4 grades. Poor (Europe) and Damaged (USA) both become Heavily Played on eBay. ManaPool knows Damaged.
Which scale you pick in a batch
When you create a batch, the condition picker follows your export targets:
- With eBay as a CSV file you capture straight in the 4 eBay grades, for example “Lightly Played (Excellent) · Cardmarket EX”. The PowerTools file gets the matching Cardmarket grade (NM, EX, GD or PL). Mint, Light Played and Poor are not available in that batch.
- Otherwise you capture on the scale of your sales region: 7 Cardmarket grades in Europe, 5 US grades everywhere else. The PowerTools file and Shopify in Europe get exactly your grade; eBay Direct Listing, ManaPool and Shopify outside Europe get the translation from the tables above.
In the eBay CSV, the title and description end with the code of the eBay grade: NM, LP, MP or HP. There, “LP” means Lightly Played, which is Cardmarket’s Excellent.
Where you see it in the app
- When you connect: if Actana translates for a marketplace, a line below it says how, with an example.
- When you list: if some cards have a condition that is named differently on the marketplace, the listing window says so in one line, for example “Mint is listed as Near Mint, Light Played as Moderately Played on eBay.”
- When you start a batch: if the condition picker switches to eBay or US grades, the reason shows below it.
- On the card: hover the marketplace logo in your inventory to see the condition there, for example “eBay: Moderately Played”.
Your inventory never changes. It always shows the condition you captured.
