Your own photos for listings

With your own photos, your eBay and Shopify listings show your real card, not just the stock image. Choose this when buyers should see the exact copy they get.

Turn it on

  1. Open Settings → Marketplaces, section Your own photos for listings.
  2. Click Store your own photos, tick the box in the window and click Consent & turn on.
  3. Turn on eBay: own photos in the listing and Shopify: own photos on the product as needed.

The first time you choose eBay or Shopify as an export target, Actana asks you: Use my photos or Use stock image.

Which photos go into the listing

  1. the front from your scan
  2. the back, if you scan with Front and back
  3. then the stock image

So the back is only there if your scanner reads both sides and you set Sides per card to Front and back for the batch. Otherwise the listing shows your front and the stock image.

Choose a photo per card

Open the card in the stack, section Price, grading, photos. With Choose photo or Replace you set your own image for the front or back, for example for a card in a case or instead of a crooked scan. Remove photo takes it out again.

Where your own photos apply

  • eBay: with eBay Direct and in the eBay CSV
  • Shopify: on the product
  • ManaPool, TCG PowerTools and TCGplayer: don’t take your own photos

Good to know

  • Actana only stores photos of cards scanned and identified after you gave consent. Older cards keep the stock image.
  • The photos live in your account and can be reached at a random address, so eBay and Shopify can pick them up.
  • Graded cards with your own photo show only your photo, without the stock image.
  • Listing from your inventory also sends the stored photos.
  • Revoke & delete photos deletes all stored photos. Images in existing eBay or Shopify listings stay there.
