Connect marketplaces

Connect eBay, Shopify and ManaPool to list cards straight from Actana. After you buy Plus or Pro, the app walks you through setup once. After that, you find everything under Settings → Marketplaces.

Setup after buying

You decide once, and after that there is nothing left to set.

  1. Connect a marketplace: With Plus you choose one marketplace, with Pro you connect all of them. That turns Managed Sync on. Managed Sync comes with connecting and can’t be turned off. If you don’t need a marketplace, for example because you only export files, click Later.
  2. Listings from CSV files on eBay: This question only comes up if eBay has listings from your Actana CSV files. You choose Switch to Managed Sync or Leave as is.
  3. What happens to your current inventory? This question only comes up if your inventory has cards.
  4. Done: Click Let’s go. From now on, what you send to your marketplace is online. Sold is gone everywhere.

If Actana listed cards for you before without Managed Sync, Managed Sync takes those listings over completely when you finish. Before that, setup tells you how many of them go to 0 because the card is no longer in your inventory.

Products already in your Shopify store are left alone. If you use another program for your listings, turn it off for the cards you list through Actana. Otherwise you sell twice.

If you have Plus and several marketplaces connected, setup asks once which one you keep. The others pause: they stay connected, and Actana only lowers quantities there after sales.

Listings from CSV files on eBay

  • Switch to Managed Sync: The listings are ended on eBay and listed again right away through Actana. They get new item numbers, and watchers are lost. After that, Actana removes every sale.
  • Leave as is: The listings keep running as before. You remove sales there yourself.

You can also switch later in your inventory with the Via CSV on eBay filter.

Your current inventory

  • Keep: Your cards stay in your inventory. Only what you list goes online. This is preselected.
  • Start fresh: Cards that are not online through Actana move to the archive. Nothing is deleted. Cards with a listing through Actana stay in your inventory, and listings from CSV files on eBay keep running. Confirm with Yes, do it.

If you chose Later in step 1, setup continues as soon as you connect your first marketplace. You can open setup again any time with Open setup again at the bottom of the Marketplaces page.

eBay

  1. Click Connect eBay and sign in with your seller account.
  2. Confirm your account on the Connect eBay? page.
  3. Set up your Seller profile: marketplace (eBay.com, eBay.de or eBay.co.uk) and item location.

Actana uses your existing shipping, payment and return policies. If one is missing, Actana creates “Actana Standard”.

Shopify

  1. Create an app in your Shopify admin. It needs access to products, inventory, locations and orders.
  2. Enter your Shop domain (your-shop.myshopify.com) and the Admin API token (shpat_…) in Actana.
  3. Choose the Shopify location for your stock.
  4. Turn on Publish directly if new cards should be visible in your shop right away. With it off, Actana creates them as drafts that you approve in Shopify.

Alternatively, you can enter the client ID and client secret of a Dev Dashboard app. Direct listing on Shopify works with shops in euros or US dollars.

Products already in your store are left alone. Don’t list the same cards again through Actana, or they show up twice in your store.

ManaPool

  1. Create an API access token in your ManaPool account.
  2. Enter your ManaPool email and the ManaPool access token in Actana.

ManaPool appears with the sales region United States and only takes Magic cards with a TCGplayer match, without grading and without the conditions Mint and Light Played. If a card is already on ManaPool from your own stock, Actana leaves it alone and tells you: Already on ManaPool. Actana leaves it as it is. If your ManaPool account isn’t ready yet, the marketplace shows Your listings aren’t visible on ManaPool yet. Check your ManaPool account for what’s missing, for example your seller profile, payout account or vacation mode.

After connecting

  • Managed Sync is on. It keeps your listings in step with Actana, and sold is gone everywhere.
  • A marketplace you connect later takes over your setup choice without asking again.
  • If you connect eBay only after setup and Actana finds listings from your CSV files there, Actana asks once: Switch to Managed Sync or Leave as is.
  • Turn off other sync tools for the cards you list through Actana. Otherwise two programs take turns setting quantities, and Actana counts the other tool’s reductions as sales.
  • Shopify and ManaPool credentials are sent and stored encrypted. For eBay you sign in directly with eBay.

The Marketplaces page

Under Settings → Marketplaces you see the status of each marketplace:

  • On: connected, Managed Sync keeps it in step.
  • Paused: Actana only lowers quantities there after sales, for example when the marketplace is no longer in your plan.
  • Connection expired. Please reconnect.: Click Reconnect.
  • Managed Sync is off on …. The setup turns it on.: Click Set up.

Disconnect and reconnect

  • Disconnect sets every listing that Actana manages on this marketplace to 0. Nothing is deleted. After disconnecting, these listings are no longer linked to Actana. If that fails for some listings, the app names the cards. Set them to 0 on the marketplace yourself.
  • If the connection has expired, Actana can no longer set your listings to 0 when you disconnect. Reconnect first, and Actana sets them to 0 when you disconnect. Or set them to 0 on the marketplace yourself.
  • If the marketplace shows Connection expired. Please reconnect., click Reconnect. With the same account, everything stays linked. You connect a different eBay or ManaPool account only after disconnecting the current one. That way no listings with stock are left in the old account.
  • If a handover is open, the marketplace shows 1 open handover · View. While it’s open, you can’t disconnect, connect a different account or, on eBay, change the seller profile. Wait until the handover is done or click Discard handover. Discarding ends the listings from this handover. Listings that existed before stay.

Good to know

  • One account is connected per marketplace.
  • If a marketplace is locked in your plan, the reason shows below it: Available from Plus. (Basis), Choose your Plus marketplace above first. (Plus without a chosen marketplace) or Not included in Plus, available in Pro. (any marketplace other than your Plus marketplace).
  • Direct connections are included in Plus (one marketplace of your choice, switch every 30 days) and Pro (all marketplaces). More under “Plans”.
  • eBay.ch is only available as an eBay CSV, not for eBay Direct.
